The real CUET Maths, in brief
CUET (UG) Mathematics / Applied Mathematics, subject 319, is one of the domain-subject papers of the Common University Entrance Test that the National Testing Agency runs for admission to the central universities, Delhi University among them. It is a 60-minute computer-based paper of 50 compulsory multiple-choice questions: Section A (15, for everyone), then either Section B1 Mathematics or Section B2 Applied Mathematics (35 each). A right answer is +5 and a wrong one −1, out of 250, on the NCERT Class 12 syllabus.
- Paper:
- Mathematics / Applied Mathematics, subject code 319
- Questions:
- 50, all compulsory: Section A 15, then Section B1 Mathematics 35 or Section B2 Applied Mathematics 35
- Duration:
- 60 minutes
- Marking:
- +5 for a right answer, −1 for a wrong one, 0 if left; 250 in all
- Mode:
- Computer-based test; no calculator
- Syllabus:
- NCERT Class 12 Mathematics. Section A: matrices and determinants, derivatives, maxima and minima, integration and area, differential equations, simple probability, linear programming
- Section B1 (Mathematics):
- Relations and functions, inverse trigonometry, matrices and determinants, continuity and differentiability, applications of derivatives, integrals and their applications, differential equations, vectors, three-dimensional geometry, linear programming, probability
- Answered and marked for review:
- Counted: an answer marked for review is evaluated; a question only marked for review is not

CUET Maths papers: common questions
Are these real CUET Maths previous year questions?
None of these is from a CUET sitting. The real ones here are CBSE's own Class 12 board questions on the same NCERT syllabus, marked with their year; the rest are written to the CUET pattern and difficulty.
How were these questions chosen?
Curated by talking to hundreds of teachers and studying the real CUET Maths pattern, so they match its sections, question types and difficulty.
What is in each paper?
20 multiple-choice questions: 6 Section A: Common, 7 Section B1: Mathematics and 7 Section B2: Applied Mathematics, in the real exam's order.
How long should I give one paper?
24 minutes in one sitting, the real CUET Maths pace of about 1 minute 12 seconds a question.
Are the answers checked?
Yes. Every question was solved without seeing the answer key, and kept only when the two matched.
Do the papers have solutions?
Yes, step by step, and the fastest way beside each one. Paper 1 is free, solutions included. In papers 2 to 5 the questions and the answer key are free - except a question that is also in a mock test, which stays hidden until you sit the mock - and the worked solutions come with Klay Prep's paid plan.
What is the CUET Maths syllabus?
Section A (common): Matrices and determinants, Second-order derivatives, increasing and decreasing functions, maxima and minima, Integration and the area under simple curves, Differential equations by separating variables, Simple probability, Linear programming by the graphical method. B1 Mathematics: Relations and functions, Inverse trigonometric functions, Continuity and differentiability, Applications of derivatives, Integrals and their applications, Differential equations, Vectors, Three-dimensional geometry, Linear programming, Probability, including Bayes' theorem. B2 Applied Mathematics: Modulo arithmetic, alligation, boats and streams, pipes and cisterns, races, Numerical inequalities, Matrices, Marginal cost and revenue, consumer and producer surplus, Binomial, Poisson and normal distributions, One-sample t-test, Time series, Perpetuity, sinking fund, EMI, CAGR, depreciation and bond valuation, Linear programming.
