The real IPMAT, in brief
IPMAT Indore is IIM Indore's entrance test for its five-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM), which leads to a BA (Foundations of Management) and an MBA. It runs for 120 minutes in three 40-minute sections: Quantitative Ability (MCQ), Quantitative Ability (Short Answer) and Verbal Ability. Candidates must clear a minimum mark in every section to be considered for a personal interview, and final selection weights the test at 65% and the interview at 35%.

- 90: 15 quant short-answer, 30 quant MCQ, 45 verbal MCQ (IIM Indore gives no count)
- Duration:
- 120 minutes: three sections of 40 minutes each, taken in a fixed order

- Marking:
- 4 marks per question; -1 per wrong answer, except Short Answer (no negative)

- Computer-based test at centres in 39 cities (2026)

- Basic on-screen calculator, per Cracku; IIM Indore's procedure does not mention one

- None for domestic applicants: selection is the test plus a personal interview

What is in each paper?
20 multiple-choice questions: 8 Quantitative Ability and 12 Verbal Ability, in the real exam's order.
How long should I give one paper?
27 minutes in one sitting, the real IPMAT pace of about 1 minute 20 seconds a question.
Are the answers checked?
Yes. Every question was solved without seeing the answer key, and kept only when the two matched.
Do the papers have solutions?
Yes, step by step, and the fastest way beside each one. Paper 1 is free, solutions included. In papers 2 to 10 the questions and the answer key are free - except a question that is also in a mock test, which stays hidden until you sit the mock - and the worked solutions come with Klay Prep's paid plan.
What is the IPMAT syllabus?
Quantitative Ability (MCQ and Short Answer): Arithmetic: percentages, ratio, profit and loss, interest, speed and distance, Number system, Linear equations, inequalities and modulus, Logarithms, Progressions (AP and GP), Geometry and coordinate geometry, Permutations, combinations and probability, Set theory, Matrices and determinants, Data interpretation set (in the MCQ section). Verbal Ability: Reading comprehension (three passages in 2025 and 2026), Para-jumbles, Sentence completion and fillers, Sentence correction, Paragraph completion, Idioms and phrasal verbs, Vocabulary, Grammar: tenses, conditionals, parallelism.
