  1. Q1Easy

A sports shop buys a cricket ball for ₹240 and sells it for ₹300. What is its profit percentage?

    Correct answer25%

    Why

Profit percent is always taken on the cost price.

    Profit is 300−240=60300 - 240 = 60, and 60240=14\frac{60}{240} = \frac{1}{4}; dividing by the selling price gives the trap 20%.

    So the profit is 25%.

  2. Q2Easy

A shop tags a jacket at 50% above its cost price, then sells it at 20% off the tag. What is its profit percentage?

    Correct answer20%

    Why

Take the cost price as 100 and chain the prices.

    The marked price is 150, and 20% off leaves 150×0.8=120150 \times 0.8 = 120.

    So the profit is 20%, not 50−20=3050 - 20 = 30%.
