  1. Q1Easy

A rectangular hall is 18 m long and its perimeter is 60 m. What is the area of its floor?

    Correct answer216 m²

    Why

Half the perimeter is length plus breadth.

    60÷2=3060 \div 2 = 30, so the breadth is 30−18=1230 - 18 = 12 m.

    The floor is 18×12=21618 \times 12 = 216 m².

  2. Q2Easy

A design club is making a circular badge with diameter 28 cm. A 90∘90^\circ sector of the badge is coloured blue. Using π=227\pi = \frac{22}{7}, what is the area of the blue sector?

    Correct answer154 cm²

    Why

A 90∘90^\circ sector is one quarter of the circle, so take a quarter of πr2\pi r^2.

    The radius is 14 cm: 14×227×196=227×49\frac{1}{4} \times \frac{22}{7} \times 196 = \frac{22}{7} \times 49.

So the blue part is 154 cm², while 616 cm² would be the full badge.
